Mr George Skeggs
George Skeggs is Soho institution, part of its everyday spectacle. Orginally from Shoreditch, he moved to the West End in the 1960s and has been hanging out in Soho and 'The Land of Theatre' (as he calls Covent Garden) ever since. It was impossible to capture George for an interior portrait, as his whole raison d'etre is to be part of the street-life and colour of the place, choosing to take his coffee al-fresco instead. A cappucino-stop for George means having his picture taken around half a dozen times by passers-by, at any one sitting.
